The problems of hard water

I love the location of my house, because we have no neighbors and we’re surrounded by a lovely forest, hills, and small streams.  Although my home is nearly two hundred years old, it is extremely modern.  I’ve invested a great deal of time, money, and effort to making everything perfect.  I’ve completely renovated every single room to be comfortable and attractive.  I’ve replaced windows, added insulation, upgraded the HVAC system, and installed new light fixtures.  The only thing that I can’t change is the condition of our well water.  I have hard water and it just about ruins living in the house.  The water is so overrun with minerals such as calcium, lime, and rust, that even a water softener can’t handle it.  I’ve installed several different types of water softeners that only manage to run me out of water.  Unfortunately, the hard water builds up and causes clogs in my pipes, corrodes my fixtures, and ruins my appliances.  A water heater in my house only lasts around two years.  I can’t even use a dishwasher because the dishes come out stained and cloudy looking.  All of my white clothing and linens have been stained an unattractive shade of orange.  The hard water even affects my family’s skin, hair and teeth.  I’ve consulted with plumbers, but there’s simply no way to combat such poor water.  I am constantly dealing with blocked drains, hard water stains, clogged aerators, and leaks.  The water even tastes and smells bad.  We don’t dare drink it, cook with it, or brush our teeth with it.
