My hometown suffered a dry spell of epic proportions recently. It had gone about three months without a single drop of rain. No only that, but the temperatures were usually well over 90 degrees almost every single day. Needless to say, it was hot! Most people decided to just stay in their homes with their heating and cooling systems turned down as cool as they could go. This was a great solution, but I liked to mix it up a little bit. Although my heating and cooling system is very important to me, I also enjoy cooling off in other ways. I have a swimming pool in my back yard, and love to go for a dip almost every day. Don’t get me wrong, I love to sit in my home as the air conditioner blows it’s cool air throughout the house. I have a well maintained heating and cooling system, so it works as if it was brand new. My cousin is a certified HVAC technician , so he checks it out for me twice a year. He helps me replace parts as they wear out, and also teaches me ways to do things on my own. Changing the air filter to your HVAC system is a lot easier than you might think! There are a lot of great things about changing the air filter often. One of them, is that when you choose the right filter you can reduce the allergen levels tremendously. The right filter can improve the air quality tremendously. This is very important, especially in an area like mine where it can get very hot and dry, and there is a ton of greenery.
